Alpaca Is the New Wool

February 28th, 2009 by Silvia Jens

by Silvia Jens

There are many reasons to buy alpaca products instead of those made out of wool, but while some of these are simply a personal preference, some may actually affect how you wear the garment or when you wear it. Here are the various differences between alpaca and wool.

First of all, alpaca is actually a stronger fiber than wool. Of course, this comparison only works between alpaca and wool that are of the same fineness. A finer piece of wool may be stronger than a less fine alpaca. Alpaca is also much softer and less irritating on the skin, something many people prefer. In fact, this is one of the major points for buying alpaca instead of wool.

Another huge reason for buying clothing and accessories made from alpaca instead of wool is that alpaca is naturally hypoallergenic. This means that it does not include any of the lanolin or dander that causes people to have allergic reactions. For people who can’t wear things made of wool, alpaca makes a great alternative. On the downside, because it does not contain any lanolin, alpaca is not naturally water resistant. This means your alpaca clothing will let through more water than wool would. It will stay cleaner, though, since lanolin tends to hold dust.

Alpaca fibers are mostly or completely hollow. What this means is that they are lighter than wool fibers, which are not hollow, resulting in a warmer garment that doesn’t weigh as much. Wool tends to be very heavy, especially wool coats. When it comes to keeping the wearer warm, however, alpaca gets the job done without relying on weight. In fact, alpaca can actually keep a person around 20 degrees warmer than wool can.

There are a couple of other features that make alpaca a superior fiber than wool. It generally does not mat or pill, although it may pill in garments made from baby alpaca. Likewise, it doesn’t shrink quite as much as wool does when washed. Alpaca also comes in many different natural colors (black, browns, white, rose, silver, and grey), so some alpaca is actually sold without being dyed.

As you can see, there are many different reasons for purchasing clothing made from alpaca instead of wool. While the two are very similar in the process of refining hair into cloth, the final products vary greatly. Alpaca is great for anyone looking for light weight and very warm products that do not cause allergies or skin irritation.

Accessory Shops that You can count on

February 17th, 2009 by charlie reese

by Charlie Reese

Accessories shops can be your limited budget wardrobe’s best friend!

While department stores and clothing shops are crying for business, accessories shops are enjoying increased sales. Why? It’s simple. While a new dress can force that credit card out of your wallet, a belt, hat, scarf or costume jewelry piece from the accessories shop can cost very little and make an entirely new costume ” or two - for your wardrobe.

A colorful, rainbow-colored paisley scarf, tied demurely at the neck and worn with your two piece black suit and a white blouse makes that suit a chic outfit, all due to the scarf. The same suit, worn with a sleek-fitting red seater and glitzy gold belt, becomes yet another costume. A red leather handbag goes well with both outfits. With just three basic accessories, your wardrobe has new life. Looks like you went shopping for new clothes, instead of making a couple of additions from an accessories shop! It’s also likely that you can match each of these accessories up with other items already in your closet.

If you’re the mix and match fan, buying separates that can coordinate with other clothing items in your wardrobe, you’re a step ahead in the seemingly extensive wardrobe department. This winter’s muted fashion colors makes this strategy exceedingly easy. Purples of every shade are the hot colors this winter, making an array of violet, magenta and deep red shades complementary assets to your wardrobe. Hats, belts, patterned scarves, handbags and costume jewelry from the accessories shop become several new costumes.

Items such as hosiery are other inexpensive costume pieces that can make an outfit go from casual to dressy. Sheer dark stockings turn a plain wool skirt into nigh time wear, while a pair of diamond patterned colored stockings are great lunch date material.

If you’re one of those who doesn’t think they’ve got a handle on matching accessories to clothing, ask for help from the accessories shop staff. They’re experts! While tastes vary, these experts can show you a number of possibilities to suit your purpose. If you have particular pieces of clothing you want to accessorize, bring these pieces in to the shop and watch that sales person whiz around the shop, coming back with an armload of accessories to fill the bill. Furthermore, they can explain how each accessory works as a fashion asset, as well as pointing out ways you can use them with other colors and fabrics. You’ll soon get the hang of choosing accessories that maximize your wardrobe and minimize your expense.

When you find an accessories shop that carries items that generally suit your taste in style, cultivate the friendship of that helpful sales person and patronize that shop almost exclusively. That sales person will learn your taste in accessories, so that when a new item comes in, she may give you a call to let you know she’s got something hot to show you. Now, you’ve got a friend on the inside to help you be the best dressed woman around! On a virtual shoestring!

Custom T-shirts

February 15th, 2009 by Mustafa Vahdet

by Mustafa Vahdet

With the advent of the Internet, home based businesses have become very popular. Yet, the fact remains that local exposure can increase the sales for any enterprise. One way to get your name and products or services in the public eye is to use custom T shirts.

T-shirt printing companies keep up with the trends, fashion, and demands and use Specialty inks, which include puff, shimmer, discharge, and chino, based inks. Metallic foils too can be stamped and heat pressed on plastisol ink. When this is combined with the specialty shimmer ink, the metallics provide a mirror effect wherever the screen-printed plastisol ink had been applied. As these specialty inks are quiet expensive they are used more on garments available in boutiques.

You may need to request an estimate of how long it will take to complete your order. The T shirt company should make this easy for you. Expect to complete your design choices, along with your request for the number of shirts you wish to purchase. The custom T shirts company should get back to you right away with the information you need.

The price is not usually set exactly for all types of custom T shirts. You will probably be quoted a price for the number and type of shirts you are ordering. You may get a break on the price if you are ordering a large number of shirts. The complexity of the design might also have a bearing on the price.

When you have completed your work of art, you will need to prepare it for printing. If it is a pen and ink drawing, you will need to make sure the ink is dry before you start to work with it further. When the artwork is ready, you can bring it into your shirt company. For an online store, scan it into your computer to upload it into their design tool.

You will be more content if you deal with a company that has good customer service. If you have any questions before you order, be sure to ask them. There may be a chat line or email address provided where you can find out about the products and the services of the company. The service you get as a potential customer is some indication of the help you will receive after you have placed your order.

Find out if the company has a money back guaranty. That is usually an indication that they will do everything possible to make you happy. If the company does not mention any kind of promise to give you the best treatment and service, you might be unwise to expect it from them.

When you shop online for custom T shirts, you will have the best experience if you research the company. Study their websites to find the best offers and the most thorough design processes. Go with a company that will give you an honest estimate of the price and time frame of your order. Online shopping is as easy as that.

If you like to display your own artistic work, you can do it on custom T shirts. First, though, you will need to draw the designs. You can do this by freehand, but there are certain things you should remember about drawing for shirts.

A design that looks good on a piece of art paper might not show up well on the shirt. If your design has too many small lines or dots, it might not show up well. The easiest way to be sure is to scan your drawing in to the computer and blow it up to the size it will be on the T shirt. Stand back from it and see if it looks the way you want it to look.

Suit Go Up While Retail Goes Down

February 14th, 2009 by Victor Santerino

by Victor Santerino

Men’s suits have been around since the end of the 13th century. Traditionally they have been worn by men looking to make themselves appear respectable. This formal garment makes a man seem more intelligent, well mannered, hard working, and honest.

However, the suit seems to have fallen out of favor for many men over the last two decades. These days you won’t find nearly as many men wearing suits as you may have in the past. I think this current deep recession will change this and bring the number of people wearing suits up dramatically.

Men fearing the eminence of a lay off will start to dress better. They will don their suits in an attempt to look better than the people in the cubicles near them. Not to be outdone, this will result in their co workers doing the same.

Internal promotions will become less available in many companies, because they will not be expanding. This will lead to employees dressing better to get an edge over their “co competitors”.

Interview suits will be needed for men that have been laid off or fired from their current jobs. In addition to this they will be competing with recent graduates who will also need strong power suits to interview in.

Unfortunately, many men will simply wear suits to give off the appearance of having a job. These people will arise each day and put on a suit for no real reason at all.

Suit businesses and manufacturers are struggling to stay in business at the moment. Many factories and retail stores are shutting down. However, this is going to change over the next year and the price of suits will go back up.

In the near future we will see that the prices of suits will go back up. Companies still standing will become even greater, and new companies will spring up to replace the fallen companies.

Pet Tuxedos

February 14th, 2009 by Victor Santerino

by Victor Santerino

The fact that many people throughout the country feel that their pets are “part of the family”, becomes quite obvious when they put them in clothes. Events such as Halloween, Christmas, and even weddings are times when people dress their dogs and cats.

Tuxedos are among the most common pieces of clothing to put on pets. This gives animal lovers an excuse to bring their beloved pets to their weddings. Having a dog running around a church would be inappropriate, but dress that dog in a tux and that’s a different story.

Cat tuxedos are not as popular as dog tuxedos. As a result cat lovers have less options when it comes to choosing a tuxedo costume for their pet. This should not deter you if you have a cat though; there are enough cat tuxedos to go around.

The advantage of placing a tuxedo on your cat rather than your dog is that the cat is usually more gentle on items placed on him/her. Cats will usually allow the costume to stay on them once you pin it on.

The cat does have a problem that most dogs do not have to worry about. This problem is in the form of the small stature of a cat. The cat cannot make the kind of display that a dog can achieve.

Dog tuxedos are commonly seen in weddings and award ceremonies. People love giving dogs human characteristics. You will see dogs in all sorts of costumes all year long. Many dog lovers even put bows and ribbons atop their dogs heads.

The dog looks great in a tuxedo because he/she can hold large tuxedos with great detail and style. This animal can even sustain a top hat if you have trained him/her to cooperate with a hat.

The disadvantage to the dog tuxedo is the fact that dogs tend to tear at foreign objects placed on them. You may find that your dog has ripped his/her tuxedo off well before you even begin your black tie affair.

Bookmark this page and read carefully over it before embarking on a pet tuxedo adventure. This will ensure that you know what are going to be involved in.

Do You Have A Power Suit?

February 12th, 2009 by Victor Santerino

by Victor Santerino

You know that the power suit is the most important suit you can ever wear. You also know that buying this suit correctly can make you more money, get you a better job, and give you more respect than ever. However, do you know what a power suit is?

I wrote this article to define the power suit in detail. This article will help give you an idea of what the jacket, shirt, tie, and shoe should look like.

The color of this suit should always be dark navy blue. This color can be seen on all presidents and presidential candidates as well as high powered business executives. It also goes well with any skin shade or body type.

The pattern of the suit must always be a pinstripe pattern with white stripes. This color and pattern will set the navy blue off, making it look formal and formidable. You will notice that many people choose this for high powered meetings.

White should be the color of the shirt you wear underneath of your suit jacket. Don’t make use of patterns or out of the ordinary styles. Colors such as ivory, blue, and gray can be saved for dressing down your power suit for everyday use.

Ties worn in conjunction with the power suit are known as power ties. These ties do not have to be one solid color, but they do need to have some red in them. For instance you could have a dark red tie with square patterns and silver outlines.

Black should be the color of your power suit dress shoes. Choose a plain shoe with a high level of shine. This shoe should not have any designs, patterns, or tassles and should be a lace up.

Use this suit to the best of your ability and you will find that success will quickly follow. Please bookmark this page and come back to it before venturing out to design your ultimate power suit.

Wool Or Polyester Tuxedo?

February 12th, 2009 by Victor Santerino

by Victor Santerino

Tuxedo materials can consist of wool, cotton, polyester, silk, cashmere, and a multitude of man made fibers. This article will analyze the advantages and disadvantages of wearing the two most popular suits, wool and polyester.

Wool is made from the hair of animals like sheep, llamas, goats, and even rabbits. This material has been around for ages and has been used in the creation of all sorts of garment before the suit was even in existence.

The advantages of wool are its: ability to both insulate and cool, durability, static resistance, and its malleability. Most tuxedos today are made from this material due to its versatility, good looks, and respectable price point.

The negative aspects of wool are its constant dry cleaning requirements and its tendency to develop wrinkles. When considering purchasing a wool tuxedo, do so with the realization that you will have to pay money to have it cleaned.

Man created polyester using a combination of chemicals to produce a versatile fiber. This fabric is used heavily in athletic wear, but was once prevalent in most formal wear lines on the market.

The benefit of this fabric is its wrinkle retardant elements that keep it looking great even after long use. Also this material does not always have to be professionally cleaned, which can save money over time.

Polyester is known for its inability to breath. Meaning it does not release body heat efficiently, which can cause problems for heavy sweaters. Another draw back is the fact that the material just isn’t as soft and luxurious as wool.

Bookmark this article and come back to it before your next tuxedo purchase. Also if you feel the information has been useful, please tell your friends about it.

Tips For Mens Church Suits

February 11th, 2009 by Victor Santerino

by Victor Santerino

Knowing how to wear a church suit can make getting ready to worship each week even more interesting than it already is. After reading this article you will have a much better idea of what your church suit should look like.

The man looking for a stylish church suit should steer clear of their normal everyday business suit. Styles to look for in a church suit would be check patterns, large windowpane designs, and cuts with more flair to them.

Following your choice of style, you should decide on a particular color. Stay with black for funerals and possibly weddings, but never for a normal sermon. Choose darker shades of blue, brown, or gray in the winter and khaki, light gray, and light blue in the spring and summer.

Another area to consider is what type of shoes you will wear. Look for something a little less formal. Try to choose a pair that has unique designs such as wingtips, monk straps, or even a nice pair of loafers. Save your plain Jane formal wear shoes for formal events but leave them home on Sundays.

Choose a tie that goes well with the relaxed nature of your dress shoes and church suit. Decide on a tie style that shows off your particular taste. Tie the knot up in a Windsor knot o half Windsor knot rather than a four in the hand knot.

Deciding on a hat should be the last area you ponder. The hat will do more than keep your head warm and dry. A church hat will show off your style and individuality over the hat-less man.

The use of jewelry can be used in moderation. Wearing a watch and a ring or two will add to your style. However, wearing a Mr. T medallion will probably ruin the rest of your outfit.

I hope you enjoyed reading this article as much as I enjoyed writing it. Try these tips out next time you go shopping for a church outfit and you will be the talk of the town. Maybe together we can bring the suit to an even greater level of popularity in church.

Comparison of After Six and Andrew Fezza Tuxedos

February 10th, 2009 by Victor Santerino

by Victor Santerino

The Andrew Fezza tuxedo and the After Six tuxedo are two of the more common brands shoppers can find in retail stores and online locations. This article will give you more in depth information on each brands particular style.

The After Six tuxedo has existed for over one hundred years and is still in business. This company has had great success over the last century and is now the worlds most enormous formal wear manufacturer.

Styles come in the form of the Catalina, Troy, Summit, Quatro, Cyprus, Rhodes, Phoenix, Eagle, Cambridge, Riviera, and La Strada models. This wide variety of styles draws a large crowd and appeals to a multitude of tuxedo shoppers.

Materials are as diverse as styles, but can always be found in wool and satin models. Prices vary between models, but usually run around $200.00.

Andrew Fezza is twenty five years old, making it less than half of the age of After Six, but twenty five years older than most fashion designs. Clothiers that have been around for more than a few years have proven that they do not lack in sales.

Design work combines Italian and American styles without the overbearing formality of British cuts. Expect to find models with a comfortable American quality and a fashionable Italian side.

Materials come in wool fabrics of high quality worsted wool. Expect to pay somewhere in the neighborhood of $300 to $400.

These tuxedos are about even when it comes to materials, but vary greatly in price. The reason for this is the more modern designer quality that Andrew Fezza lends to his creations.
