The Mystery Within Metaphysical Jewelry

March 7th, 2010 by VERNE HOWARD

Artisan-crafted spiritual healing jewelry is a uniquely attractive addition to any jewelry collection and is a wonderful choice when in search of a meaningful gift for a friend, family member or partner. With healing stones, natural metals, beautifully handmade beads and intentional crafting, metaphysical jewelry has high visual appeal, as well as emotional, spiritual and physical healing properties. Chakra jewelry is created for balancing energies, spiritual rejuvenation and allowing you to adorn yourself with beautiful, handcrafted pieces imbued with healing energies.

Energy medicine was one of the first methods of healing and has been in use for millennia in cultures around the world. Traditional healers and old-world societies were well aware of the healing benefits of certain stones, metals and natural elements long before precise energy measurements could be conducted using modern scientific instruments. Those who sought healing in the ancient world were frequently given spiritual healing jewelry, such as a necklace, bracelet or amulet with a particular combination of healing stones and natural materials to assist them on their journey towards physical, emotional or spiritual healing.

The energy vibrations and subtle healing abilities of stones used in psychic jewelry vary and are connected to various emotions, areas of personal development and parts of the body. The stones used in handcrafted metaphysical jewelry are commonly chosen for their specific capacity to balance particular energies or open certain chakras in a manner that is beneficial to the wearer. The use of spiritual jewelry in healing practices has been passed down through the generations of traditional and spiritual healers and is widely used today, including the increasing popularity of bestowing inspirational jewelry upon a loved one who needs healing, or simply to express our affection and concern for their overall spiritual well-being.

Aside from giving handcrafted spiritual healing jewelry as a gift and using it in healing practices, purchasing pieces for yourself and wearing them in your daily life is a powerful means of centering, working on personal growth, balancing and focusing energies, and investing in your own emotional and spiritual healing process. Selecting a piece of metaphysical jewelry that you are drawn to is a particularly empowering experience that focuses your intentions and puts forth your desire to open yourself to the healing energies offered by each beautiful stone. Whether you are in search of physical healing for a specific ailment, inner peace and centering, of the ability to more fully express yourself, inspirational jewelry crafted with healing stones will give off subtle energies to assist you in achieving your goals and enhancing your overall health and well-being.

Spiritual healing jewelry is a becoming, convenient way to ensure you are surrounded by the subtle healing energies of stones, metals and other natural elements throughout the day and is a lovely adornment that can swathe you in the centering energies of black tourmaline, or bring you the good fortune of aventurine, the awareness and thought amplification of lapis lazuli, the courage and confidence encouraged by tiger eye, the wisdom brought by sodalite or the protection offered by agate.

One of the intriguing aspects of selecting the spiritual healing jewelry that is just right for your or to give as a gift is that there are simply no wrong decisions. You will find that you are naturally drawn to the piece of spiritual jewelry appropriate to the situation, needed healing or intention, ensuring that the metaphysical jewelry you choose will be the perfect piece for you or your loved one.

Nabbing Fashion Bags At A Friendly Price Tag

March 1st, 2010 by Chris Channing

High fashion or ready to wear fashion, a good handbag is a staple in many wardrobes. It is an accessory as well as something practical and useful for everyday life. Fashionable handbags may be expensive, but they don’t have to be. If you know where to look you can definitely snag a bag for a great price without breaking the bank.

The first thing is to look online at the options you have. E-stores as well as sample sales and bargain bins are a great place to start. They often carry designer brands and knock offs, which you can choose at your own discretion. This is an excellent opportunity to potentially get a gently used bag or just one that didn’t make it to the major boutiques.

Other retailers may also offer competitive pricing on bags. Comparing price options and style choices amongst a few retailers can also help you narrow down your choices to one or two excellent fashion bags. There are plenty of designers that offer a wide range of prices that are also affordable. Outlet stores with bags from the last season are also options that you can consider to get an affordable handbag in your closet as soon as possible.

The best prints and styles for the season can also be found for affordable prices. You don’t have to buy a designer bag to get a fashionable handbag. Many knock offs and no name bags are equally as fabulous and eye catching as well. This is a great way to get multiple bags if you are picky and like to change purses often. Always look for simple prints in solid colors.

Other handbags that will remain affordable this year are last year’s styles. If you cannot afford a new bag, then buy an older style and renovate it a bit. Some of the classic handbags from years past still remain fashionable in the years to come, so don’t worry about splurging on new handbags for the whole year.

In addition, fashionable handbags can be found anywhere. With a little creativity something dull can also be slightly modified into a fashionable one, at a low cost! Fashion bags are a necessity for most women, and every female should own at least one nice bag that will last years and still remain in fashion!

Final Thoughts

Many women think that owning a fashionable handbag will leave them broke. This simply isn’t true. With a little shopping around skill you can definitely nab a great bag for less than others on the market - and be pleased with your purchase!

Caring for a Shearling Coat

January 21st, 2010 by Tatiana Burman

Shearling coats can be extremely expensive, but they sure do a great job of keeping you warm and looking stylish. Although they are expensive, they can last a very long time if cared for properly. They do need more care than most other materials, especially while cleaning them as they can easily be damaged if not treated in the correct manner. This guide will help you understand how to properly care for your shearling coat.

The most common mistake people make when caring for their shearling coat is they use a washing machine and/or dryer. This is a very easy way to ruin your coat. Always dry clean and air-dry your coat.

The second rule is a bit tedious, but it’s really not that tough. If you love your shearling coat, you’ll want to clean it pretty frequently. Depending on the amount of use you get from your coat, this may vary but shearling easily picks up dirt. The dirt settles into the shearling and becomes harder and harder to remove as it settles. With that said, the frequent cleanings will keep your shearling coat looking like its brand new!

Winter goes hand in hand with fires and heating. Any source of high heat, especially an open fire can easily destroy your shearling and the leather. Never place your jacket near the fire or near any heating system.

Keeping the color of your shearling coat is extremely important. These coats tend to loose color easily and the most common cause is the sun. With that said, never let your shearling jacket sit in the sun for long periods of time. If you’re coat rack is in front of a window, do not leave your shearling on this rack. In a matter of a few weeks, your jackets color can fade.

When it comes to storing your coat, never use a plastic garment bag. Many assume this is the best way to protect it; however this traps all the moisture in the coat which can damage the materials. Shearling coats need to breathe, so always use a cloth garment bag which is allows the shearling to breathe.

Shearling coats deserve space in the closet! Make sure the coat has some room and isn’t just cramped into the closet. It should always hang in its natural form and never in any sort of contorted way. The hangar you use should always be stout as well and never hang your coat on anything round, like a door knob.

If you can treat your shearling coat well and care for it by following these rules mentioned, your jacket will last a very long time. Shearling coats are very pricey, so it’s definitely worth giving it a bit of attention.

Motorcycle Jackets - The New Motorcycle Jackets Thats Changing The Industry

January 7th, 2010 by Kathy Perdue

Many motorcycle riders sacrifice their safety for comfort by not wearing motorcycle jackets or vests. The riders do this because of a few reasons, one being the motorcycle jackets are not comfortable and can be hot in the summer and cold in the winter. The Creators at hogcooler.com have come up with the perfect solution to this problem by developing the hog cooler motorcycle vest. This amazing motorcycle vest will keep you cool in the summer and hot in the winter.

Many of you reading this are asking how can a motorcycle jacket keep you cold and hot, right? It’s quite simple. The makers of the hogcooler vest have created a motorcycle vest that can keep you really cool in the summer and warm in the winter. How the vest works is, in the summer you put a bag of ice in your saddle bag. Then the cool air is fed through a tube that is attached to the vest. It is easy to detach from the vest to allow you to get on and off the bike without having to take off the vest. The jacket can keep your temperature at 60 degrees regardless how hot it is.

It works the same way in the winter months except you don’t have to add ice! In the winter the heat generated off the motorcycle will feed into the tube and up into the motorcycle jacket keeping you warm. Since there are no wires or batteries that need to be attached to the bike it will not hurt your bike or cost you extra money to use the motorcycle jacket. Other motorcycle jackets or vests require you to hook up to the batteries on the bike to generate heat, that only causes you to replace the batteries on your bike much faster. With the Hog Vest you don’t have nothing to worry about!

The Hog Cooler is like many other motorcycle jacket systems out today in the sense it utilizes the items bikers all ready have with them to keep them cool or warm. However the hog cooler is the first motorcycle jacket to allow you to detach the tube and not the jacket. This is just one of the many new benefits of the Hog Cooler.

The Hog Cooler vest requires no bulky hardware and is easy to use. These features will be noticed right a way from anyone who rides and can be very appreciated for their value in staying comfortable on the open roads.

Anyone who has worn a motorcycle jacket in the summer can agree with me in the fact that they are hot and uncomfortable. However you need them to stay safe and to have pockets to store things. With that being said most riders will sacrifice there saftey and there pockets to stay comfortable all day long on their bikes.

Now with the Hog Cooler Vest System you no longer have to make sacrifices to be comfortable on the open roads today. The new breakthrough invention will let all riders have their cake and eat it too!

If you want to find out more information about thetypes of Motorcycle Jackets that are changing the way people ride now, visit the official Hog Cooler website now.

Enjoy the World’s Most Famous Shoe Styles

January 1st, 2010 by Jayde Johannsen

When it comes to womens shoes there are some looks that never really go out of style. For the amateur shoe-buyer, or fanatic in the making, it is good to have an idea of what you are looking for by paying attention to some classic shoe styles. Starting with this guide will have you on your way to being a shoe connoisseur in no time!

With womens shoes the style most commonly heard is definitely the pump. What exactly a pump is may be a bit of a loose definition, but in short, the back of the shoe is closed, the front is low-cut, and they are above all, defined by a “high heel.” The classic image of a womens formal shoe is defined by this shape.

In contrast a ballerina flat is a shoe that is heelless, and resembles a ballerina’s slipper. This gives them their other commonly used name, the ballerina flat. A flat is a shoe that is closed both at the back and the front, and is low-cut on the top.

A bit less delicate than the previous two styles, clogs are womens shoes that are open at the back and closed at the front for easy slip-on usage. Clogs and mules are terms often used interchangeably; however, the clog traditionally has a platform style heel, and was traditionally made of wood.

Traditionally of Spanish origin, espadrilles are shoes which have woven or canvas fabric on the upper part of the shoe, and a sole woven of rope or grass.

Dating back to the time of King Louis XIV of France, the French heel was the style he wore to add to his just-above 5-foot stature. These shoes are notable for their curved heels of medium height.

Huaraches were traditionally handmade sandals, and today maintain a woven quality. This traditional Mexican shoe is today made of a number of materials including leather and rubber, and they are worn for their comfort, slip-on ease, and durability.

A kitten heel refers not only to the size but the placement of the heel. These are short heels, rising between one and two inches, and are placed in the center of the heel of the shoe.

A Mary Jane style shoe is characterized by the strap, usually a buckle that crossed over the top of the foot. The toe of a Mary Jane is generally rounded, and the heel is either flat or a bulky platform.

Oxford shoes are traditionally considered men’s shoes, but any shoe that laces up and is formal in style can be considered an Oxford shoe.

Peep-toe shoes and open-toe shoes are quite similar, however, the difference is that with a peep-toe shoe a very small hole exposes the toes in the front, while an open-toe shoe exposes the entire toe line.

Notable from the seventies, platform shoes are shoes that are notably thicker at the part of the sole directly below the toes and ball of the foot. Although many people refer to platform shoes as shoes with a thick heel, a true platform describes only the forward portion of the sole’s thickness.

A slide is a shoe that slips on and off, and is open at the back and front. A slide is held onto the foot only by a thin piece or several pieces of material which stretch just below the toes and over the top of the foot. A true slide has no other straps.

A sling-back shoe features a strap which wraps around the back of the heel or ankle, and helps to hold the shoe in place. A true sling-back has the strap connected to the base of the shoe, and not connected to any other feature.

A stacked heel gives the appearance of being constructed of stacked pieces of a material, usually wood, to create height.

When a high heel is characteristically thin, tall, spiky, and pointy it is known as a stiletto heel.

A wedge shoe has a sole in the shape of a wedge, with the smallest part beginning behind the toes and extending up the length of the heel.

Jayde Johannsen adores her shoes so much she launched the Women’s Shoes website to help others who share the same obsession. Currently she is looking for women’s running shoes.

Finding A Good Clothing Material-3 Tips To Help

December 10th, 2009 by Ron Gilmore

If you are starting out with finding a good clothing material or clothing fabric these 3 tips will be able to give you some good ideas as to what type of styles are out there and available to you. Whether you have a small or large designing or sewing project you will have some insight on the importance of fabric versatility and durability as well the importance of being able to mix and match with different clothing.

1. When making the decision to get a fabric to make clothes with whether it be a vest, jacket, skirt, or other piece getting a versatile material is important. Velvet is a popular choice because it has a dense pile while still being soft and its been used for a wide variety of costumes in movies and plays.

2. You may be able to use a more targeted and specific type of fabric design for your clothing project like either a denim or camouflage material. One thing to keep in mind with a specific and specialty type of material like camouflage or denim is that their ability to go well with other types of clothing has limits. The ability to wear certain clothing pieces with many outfits is a huge advantage of more versatile materials.

3. How about cost effectiveness? Can you get your material in large and small quantities alike for a similar price depending on how big your project is? If you are just making a skirt or shirt for your personal wardrobe than price may not be a big factor but if you are planning on manufacturing a number of clothing pieces than being able to get a large selection and a great discount is important.

From getting a versatile and maybe even a fashionable fabric having an idea of what type of project you are focusing on does matter. Keeping in mind your budget, what kind of design you are reaching for, and if a specific and specialty material is right for your these 3 tips have covered how to better approach finding a good clothing material.

Hiking Boots: Step Into The Exact Fit

December 5th, 2009 by Ethan Tanner

There are simply two rules for buying hiking boots: honorable quality and good fit. But whenever it’s that simple, why do so numerous hikers end up wearing badly fitted boots? Numerous hikers wear boots that do not fit decently — and they frequently do not even know it. Their boots leave them with blisters and painful feet, but they consider that’s just part of hiking. Pain is not a natural part of delighting the outdoors.

Boots that do not fit right can also lead to sore knees, ankles, hips, and back. After all, the 26 bones of your feet support the full weight of your body and backpack. Since your boots determine the comfort and support of your feet, which in turn support your entire weight, hikers normally agree that the most significant piece of hiking gear is the boot.

It’s well worth it, consequently, to attain the investment of time and money in finding the right boot.

While it comes to boots, you acquire what you pay for. Inexpensive boots are made from cheap materials that bind, chafe, and fail to protect your feet from moisture and added hazards. Manufactures cut down on costs by cutting corners; you pay the cost in terms of lost comfort, and it’s never worth the profit you “saved.” A good leather boot will almost always outwear a cheaper synthetic boot creating real value.

Look for at least two sets of lace-hooks at the top. Lace holes make it more difficult to adjust your lacing for up-and down-hill stretches, and manufactures of good boots know this. The exterior material should be waterproof and durable. The interior material should be smooth; no chafing and no sticky, poking seeds. Leather is truly the correct choice for quality long lasting breathable boots.

The tongue should be pleated to keep out water. And the sole should have an effective traction design and be stiff enough for your standard use (trekkers carrying heavy packs require stiffer soles than day hikers, for example).

Don’t even consider about “breaking them in.” Although hiking boots pack-down fairly and form to your foot, boots that rub or bind anywhere will never fit correctly. In addition to, be sure that your toes have room. If they’re touching the front of the boot at altogether, your downhill hikes will be aching, regardless how good you’re at lacing.

Of course, shop for your hiking boots wearing the hiking socks you normally use so their thickness is part of the fit. If you follow these guidelines, you will end up with hiking boots that will last for many years and make every hike a pleasure.

Leather expert and knowledgeable Ethan O. Tanner explains the various selections of boots the determining factors in hiking for your outdoor needs.
