One of the things Italy has always been known for is outlandish designs. This obvious when you look at their furniture or even their cars such as the Lamborghini and Ferrari. This countries designers just have a flare about them that is very hard to outshine. One of the things Italy is most known for however, is their incredible suits.

For decades Italian suits have just been the embodiment of style. Just look back at previous decades such as the 1950s when movie stars were wearing their suits created by Brioni or the 1980s when Armani suits became the status symbol of the day.

In the trust sense though, the Italian suit cut just doesn’t exist in this day and age. Don’t think of this as a bad thing however. Every new suit designer brings new and original ideas to suits that just weren’t there before.

The idea in everyone’s heads about what an Italian suit is however is quite strong. This really comes down to two things. First, for quite some time we have been told that Italian suits are the best on the market and because of this stores charge a premium for Italian made brands.

Second, the Italian cut isn’t so much as physical thing as it is an idea. The quality of these suits is not just all smoke and mirrors, these suits have some very clear advantages. For example the British label Savile Row’s primary focus is on tradition and craftsmanship. On the other hand Italian designers are more interested in making their work look different. This is what gives them their head turning flare.

When it comes to Italian suits it is the combination of culture and marketing that arguably makes them the best on the market. Italian tailors focus primarily on design and beauty. British tailors on the other hand favour making suits out of heavy materials which makes them functional in a foggy city like London.

Italy has a much different climate and thusly their suits are much different. Italy is very warm and sunny. Italian suits are made with nice soft materials that fall over the body nicely. They are much more comfortable and relaxing because you skin can breathe easily through their light materials.

In the end you can clearly see that Italian suits are made to be worn for pleasure. Suits require some care. Usually all we do is hang them up between wearing them. When we buy a suit, it is probably for a specific event and once that event is over, the suit gets cleaned and hung in the closet until next time.

The next time we need to wear the suit, we will take it out of the closet, put on again, clean it if needed and put it right back in the closet again. You will notice a tradition here. This is all that you will do with your suit and you think this is enough.

Once again, you will need to wear your suit, and you remove it from your closet but this time you realize that moths have ruined your thousand dollar suit. Only then will you think that you really should have taken better care of your suit.

Moths don’t need to be left alone with your suit for too long to destroy it. Cedar is a great repellant. There are many products available to deter these little critters, but the ultimate is a wardrobe made of cedarwood.

After a men’s suit is cleaned, it should be hung up without creasing. You should hang it straight, just as you would wear it. Avoid sunlight. If the sun shines in the direction where you hang your suit and this occurs regularly, you will notice that your suit will lose its color in the area where the material is exposed.

When you take a trip, put your suit in a travel bag. These nylon bags come equipped with a hanger for your suit and the bag can be zipped up.
