Mens Hoodies - Casual Style For Men Of All Ages

July 28th, 2010 by Charles Tompkins

Men’s hoodies are quite the popular item. They are apparel that is worn for casual wear, they are usually made from cotton and go over the head with a hood attached and a pouch pocket in the front.

They are a genius invention that will look stylish while keeping the wearer warm.

A favored style is the screen printed. They are a favorite way to express feelings, messages and opinions. Some are screen printed with well known characters or products. They often have favorite teams blazed across the chest of the men’s hoodies expressing team loyalty or they have catchy sayings. Some simply have the designer name across them.

Polyester ones can be part of a warm weather work out suit. Some jogging suits or work out gear comes with one as part of the outfit. These are great options for cold weather work outs or a quick casual outfit to wear out and about. When they are part of a jogging outfit or work out outfit they are usually cotton and fleece lined for added comfort and warmth. Some are made of polyester blends to prevent shrinking; these less than natural materials are usually used for the warmer weather because their thermal qualities are not quite as good.

The price of men’s hoodies varies widely, a simple one with no details or screen printing can sometimes cost less than ten dollars. For team logo types especially licensed team logo ones are going to be a lot more expensive somewhere in the sixty to the one hundred dollar range.

Men’s hoodies are a great cool weather gear option. They are stylish and fun to wear. They can be purchased relatively inexpensively and are widely available. They come in an array of colors and styles and can be worn in any casual environment the pouch pocket is convenient when headed to the gym to keep keys, wallets and phones safe during the work out.

Men’s hoodies are one of today’s most popular modern fashions. Visit my website to learn more about other popular mens winterwear.

What Is An Italian Suit?

March 27th, 2010 by John Daniels

One of the things Italy has always been known for is outlandish designs. This obvious when you look at their furniture or even their cars such as the Lamborghini and Ferrari. This countries designers just have a flare about them that is very hard to outshine. One of the things Italy is most known for however, is their incredible suits.

For decades Italian suits have just been the embodiment of style. Just look back at previous decades such as the 1950s when movie stars were wearing their suits created by Brioni or the 1980s when Armani suits became the status symbol of the day.

In the trust sense though, the Italian suit cut just doesn’t exist in this day and age. Don’t think of this as a bad thing however. Every new suit designer brings new and original ideas to suits that just weren’t there before.

The idea in everyone’s heads about what an Italian suit is however is quite strong. This really comes down to two things. First, for quite some time we have been told that Italian suits are the best on the market and because of this stores charge a premium for Italian made brands.

Second, the Italian cut isn’t so much as physical thing as it is an idea. The quality of these suits is not just all smoke and mirrors, these suits have some very clear advantages. For example the British label Savile Row’s primary focus is on tradition and craftsmanship. On the other hand Italian designers are more interested in making their work look different. This is what gives them their head turning flare.

When it comes to Italian suits it is the combination of culture and marketing that arguably makes them the best on the market. Italian tailors focus primarily on design and beauty. British tailors on the other hand favour making suits out of heavy materials which makes them functional in a foggy city like London.

Italy has a much different climate and thusly their suits are much different. Italy is very warm and sunny. Italian suits are made with nice soft materials that fall over the body nicely. They are much more comfortable and relaxing because you skin can breathe easily through their light materials.

In the end you can clearly see that Italian suits are made to be worn for pleasure. These aren’t the functional suits created by the Americans and British who primarily create suits completely as work wear or for formal occasions. Even if these companies are offering much more hand made detail, they will never match the flare and wearability of Italian suits.

Why Precisely Do Girls Love To Shop For Clothes?

February 21st, 2010 by John Cooper

What exactly is it that makes girls so interested in going out to shop for clothes on their local high street or at the mall? when men love to just sit around watching sports on their weekends, women all seem to want to flock to their nearest shopping outlet to try on some of the latest fashions. But what exactly is the appeal?

Whilst they may seem very different on the outside, and in a lot of the things that they like to do, men and women share some common characteristics. One of these is the thrill of the hunt, and whilst men prefer to do this out in the woods hunting animals, women are more interested in doing their hunting around the shops. This is their hunting ground, and they will spend hours seeking out their favorite items of clothing.

Their competitive streak is not vented out on the sports field like mens is, but in the mall. They absolutely love trying to outdo their friends in finding the best outfit for their big night out or that perfect dress for the ball. When they turn up at the big event sporting that great purchase they will feel a huge sense of pride and victory over their fellow shoppers.

I suppose one of the main reason that they love to shop is to stay up to date with all the newest fashions that are doing the rounds. Women are masters of fashion and dress sense and know exactly how to co-ordinate a great look. They will not only be out looking for clothing, but they will be after the whole ensemble set. Make up, shoes, jewellery and clothes all add up to create the perfect look.

Aside from all of this, girls just love to chat and hang out, and this all adds up to the experience. The day out shopping is full of other activities that they enjoy and the whole ensemble piece is one of the top activities.

For the man that is fond of Polo shirts, there are some available that mimic this in a sweater. They have the classic slightly open, button neck, but all the warmth of a normal sweater. This appeals to a lot of males and if a very popular purchase that they enjoy wearing.

Another alternative is to purchase ones that are similar to traditional, full-button front sweaters. Many people prefer these to ones that have to be slid over the head to be worn. They find them much more comfortable and they are easier to remove in a situation where it is no longer required. Usually referred to as Cardigans, they are great to carry with you and have handy on a day that may turn chilly.

The prices for them can also vary, depending on where you buy them and time of year. Many people love to stock-up during the off-season when they are often a better buy. Why Should I Buy A Tuxedo?

November 7th, 2009 by Rachel M. Quake

A tuxedo gives you an edge as it is considered the most prestigious look available. For instance, working in an office setting means you are probably are aiming for the appearance of a top executive. Even if you aren’t a top executive then you can still look like one. People always treat those that look top notch with respect.

A better and more distinguished look will give you a better chance to make a royal reputation than anyone not as well dressed will. Many resources indicate that first impressions are the most important in terms of acceptance and initial respect.

By purchasing a tuxedo, you can seem like anyone you want to be, and a power suit of this kind makes anyone look confident and successful.

For example, a tall and slim person could purchase a double-breasted suit with somewhat rounded lapels. This is only one of many styles, but the addition of the right color scheme can make you seem more opposing than a slimmer and taller frame can without this kind of embellishment.

In addition, a larger person could purchase a black tuxedo with pinstripes to make you look slimmer.

If you intend to wear your tuxedo to a wide variety of functions, you must make your choice very carefully. Black would be the best color for this situation as it is acceptable for almost all occasions, whether business or social.

Don’t think that a single tuxedo will limit your choices of which function to go to. Picking the right black tuxedo will give you the ability to fit in anywhere just by changing up extras such as shirt colors and tie colors. Let the extras make you fit in with the right level of formality.

If you wish to wear another color of tuxedo than black, then you must be aware that you cannot likely wear it to as many different events. This may necessitate purchasing more than one tuxedo.

If you can afford to, you should have your tuxedo tailored to fit your specific measurements, rather than buying off the rack. It can be difficult to find off the rack tuxedos that fit properly in every dimension. If you can afford a tailored tuxedo you will have made a very valuable addition to your wardrobe.

Wearing A Cummerbund With Your Tuxedo.

October 23rd, 2009 by Victor B. Sancharo

For the most part a cummerbund is a belt made from cloth, usually silk, which is typically worn with a suit around the waist. Nowadays they are purely aesthetic items. The cummerbund originates from India, where high level Officers in the British Army would wear them to dinners and high social gatherings.

The cummerbund?s crucial intention today may be merely to camouflage the increasing girth of the wearers waist. It will forever function to generate the illusion that your legs are longer, but has always been an item of clothing from the olden days.

Nowadays, however, this isn’t the situation, because the cummerbund is going through a rebirth, assisted by the famous that have started to don them to spruce up their fashionable clothing. It’s a matter of attempting to make a statement on a fresh style direction.

Additionally, modeling shows highlight the cummerbund more when men’s jackets are shown in correlation with the greatest collections of a designer. A lot of the best designers have displayed cummerbunds as accessories to their showings in addition to various trimmings.

Forever associated with the most ceremonial of occasions, the cummerbund has now been given a renovation and is appearing all over the place as an informal fashion accessory. To be sure, the celebrities often wear it with their tuxedos and no tie (normally a huge fashion faux pas). However, it often seems that the reviews vote the look a hit.

However, not all share this view. As with any fashion there will always be those who criticize. Something as extreme as a cummerbund is likely these days to make too challenging a statement for many.

One can note that it actually draws attention to the stomach, rather than flattening it, especially if the person wearing it is remarkably overweight and wearing a bright cummerbund. Though perhaps those people are wearing what they are because they don?t concern themselves with the thoughts of others.

The wedding gathering is in all probability the most popular place to see it being worn. Nothing quite beats the spectacle of the groom and his support in similar attire. Whether or not that includes a cummerbund is up to the groom himself. If so, some of the party may be finding themselves wearing one for the first time. They may just like the style.

Get Smart And Choose The Right Business Tuxedo

October 17th, 2009 by James V. Santerino

Your skill, experience and intelligence is what gets you ahead in business. Of this there can be no denying. However, it’s often how you are “perceived” that counts almost as much. The way people think of you affects how they view you as a businessman and they will often follow their first impressions. How can a nice business tuxedo work to your advantage?

We often hear how important first impressions are, and it is quite true in your everyday contacts in your business. Undoing a bad first impression can take time. You will be at a disadvantage, coming from behind in your business relationship.

This is not necessary. You would have been much more effective in your presentation if you had just been more appropriately dressed, exuding self-confidence and success. You would start out with the perception that you were a winner, instead.

This may seem a little over the top. It’s not. Companies spend huge amounts of money employing psychologists and consultants to tell them exactly what you have just read.

Imagine if you had to make a presentation to prospective clients. What would they take more seriously? Someone dressed in a jacket and pants, or someone dressed immaculately in a fine quality business tuxedo?

The way you look is not only a statement about who you are. Your appearance presents an image about your company to those with whom you are doing business.

There is really only one way to dress in a business tuxedo. That is to wear a power suit.

The concept of power dressing is an old one. It came into vogue in the 1990s, but it is still valid today. A simple, classic business tux makes a strong statement of competence and ability. Look for a basic black, single breasted, woolen tux. Your shirt should be crisp, clean, white with a button down collar. Your tie should be classic black, and your shoes should be patent leather - black and shiny.

You should follow this basic style when wearing a business tuxedo. If you must, you could wear a very dark blue tuxedo, but never anything but a white shirt and dark, matching tie.

A Tuxedo Can Look Great On Tall Men

September 26th, 2009 by Victor R. Santerino

by Victor R. Santerino

Tall men often feel they cannot keep their wardrobe up to date because of limited styles and products. In fact, designers on a global basis now produce clothing appropriate for tall men. Tall men must of course not only have clothing that is up to date but also comfortable to wear and fitting correctly.

It is harder to feel comfortable if you are extremely tall and slender but you can feel comfortable if you put on a well fitted tuxedo. Surely, if your suit doesn’t fit appropriately you won’t be comfortable. You will be self conscious of your appearance in your suit and feel embarrassed.

Because tall slim men often give off a thin and potentially fragile look, it is important not to wear clothing that accentuates the height and weight. This is achieved by purchasing a custom made to measure suit for the best fit. In addition, lightweight materials should be avoided because they also put emphasis on the tall frame. Heavier fabrics such as a heavy wool or tweed work best in supplementing a tall frame to give it more bulk.

When selecting a tuxedo, tall and slim men should generally choose a lighter color. Darker colors such as black and navy draw attention to the frame while gray or light blue tends to create a heavier look and fill out the tall man’s frame.

In addition to color, the design is another component to keep in mind. Clothing with vertical stripes should be avoided. Patterns are a better choice and horizontal stripes would be most preferable when creating a suit. Finding broad horizontal stripes in patterns may be difficult depending on the material and manufacturer.

Having the tuxedo made to measure is so essential. If your clothes are too loose-fitting the effect will be that there is very little body inside them. If your clothes are too tight a fit all you will accomplish is emphasizing that same feature.

Under no circumstances, should you wear a jacket with shoulder pads. Shoulder pads will make you look like a football player, but just in the shoulder area, unfortunately not in the remaining parts of your body.

If you are tall and have the wrong clothes on you could easily look silly. This might be alright if you are trying to be humorous. However, be certain to follow the previous advice given to do the best with what nature gave you. There isn’t any reason for a tall man to look tall and skeletal.

Tall Men Can Look Great, Even In A Tuxedo

September 24th, 2009 by Victor R. Santerino

by Victor R. Santerino

Since the current fads from Milan, Paris or anywhere change quickly, it is necessary that tall men stay aware of the recent styles. It is common sense that you have to feel comfortable with the clothes you put on.

Tall slim men should wear outfits that don’t give you a delicate look, consequently it’s even more important that you have a very good made to measure fitting. It would surely be preferable to choose heavy fabrics which will give the illusion of adding to your frame. The best materials are heavy wool or tweeds.

When selecting a tuxedo, tall and slim men should generally choose a lighter color. Darker colors such as black and navy draw attention to the frame while gray or light blue tends to create a heavier look and fill out the tall man’s frame.

Avoid clothes with vertical stripes. Patterns are good and horizontal stripes are excellent, but it would surely be amazing to find a suit with bold horizontal stripes.

As indicated in this article, ill fitting clothing will simply create a poor body reflection. Therefore having the tuxedo custom fitted fundamental to a good fit. Regardless of whether the suit is too loose and hangs or too tight, it will give a thin skeletal effect by drawing attention to a tall thin man’s frame.

How to Care for Your Favorite Suit

September 22nd, 2009 by Victor R. Santerino

by Victor R. Santerino

Suits require some care. Usually all we do is hang them up between wearing them. When we buy a suit, it is probably for a specific event and once that event is over, the suit gets cleaned and hung in the closet until next time.

The next time we need to wear the suit, we will take it out of the closet, put on again, clean it if needed and put it right back in the closet again. You will notice a tradition here. This is all that you will do with your suit and you think this is enough.

Once again, you will need to wear your suit, and you remove it from your closet but this time you realize that moths have ruined your thousand dollar suit. Only then will you think that you really should have taken better care of your suit.

Moths don’t need to be left alone with your suit for too long to destroy it. Cedar is a great repellant. There are many products available to deter these little critters, but the ultimate is a wardrobe made of cedarwood.

After a men’s suit is cleaned, it should be hung up without creasing. You should hang it straight, just as you would wear it. Avoid sunlight. If the sun shines in the direction where you hang your suit and this occurs regularly, you will notice that your suit will lose its color in the area where the material is exposed.

When you take a trip, put your suit in a travel bag. These nylon bags come equipped with a hanger for your suit and the bag can be zipped up. A high quality travel bag will let you fold your suit carefully and won’t leave too many creases. When you arrive at your location, you should straighten out your suit and let it hang in a natural position for as long as you can.

As for cleaning, look around and ask for advice. Pick a dry cleaners that has been in business for a long time. A lot of the newly opened dry cleaners hire young people and don’t actually do the cleaning at their own business. They ship all of their clothes away for cleaning. Find a cleaners that cleans at the same place where their business is located.

At the same time, try to find a cleaner who will also carry out suit care alterations if required. Even if it’s simply a case of an expanding waistline. None of us stay the same shape forever.
